Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend, Francis Morales, 24, against the wishes of their families. Francis’s mother, Lillian, is a devout Catholic who disapproves of her son’s life and expresses her feelings through violent, religious-themed postcards. Despite these contradictions, the young lovers embark on a new, exciting life together. Their happiness is interrupted, however, when an accident leaves Francis physically and mentally injured.
